2009 in Review
Wow, what a crazy year. In February Steven became very sick and after a trip to the ER and then a trip to the Dr. we found out he had spinal Meningitis. He had never really been sick before so this was a huge shocker for both of us. He spent most of February and part of March in bed.
During this time, it occurred to me that I might have to get a job. So in March I started to study for my Utah Insurance license, which, by the way, kicked my butt! After not being in school for so many years, it was hard to teach myself to study again. I finally passed, and started working. I thought studying was hard- nothing compared to being gone all day and then trying to still be mom!
I don't know how working mothers do it.
Well needless to say, it didn't work out. Come June I was feeling VERY strongly that I needed to be at home. It took me about a month to admit it and act on it, but I did and I guess this is where I am supposed to be.
Jesse and Tate played baseball again this last year. Tate's team went undefeated during the regular season, but didn't make it through the city tournament to move on to state. Jesse's team did make it to state and took 5th place. They will both move up a league this next season and will be on totally new teams. Their grandpa Verl helped to coach both of their teams, which I know means a lot to them.
Millie and Wesley are bound and determined to play this year, so I'm sure it's going to be a very busy season, but I LOVE it. There are two things that I look forward to each year, and they are baseball season and our yearly family camping trip to Annabella Mountain! As soon as the Christmas tree comes down I start to feel the excitement!
Jesse turned 12, received the priesthood and started Jr. High. I feel so old!
Jesse, Tate and I all took Hunter's Safety in September. And Tate went out on opening day of the duck hunt and shot his first duck!
Millie continued to dance and preformed in 2 recitals, but has now decided that she really doesn't want to take dance anymore. Truthfully I don't know that she ever did, I think I was just trying to live through my child. Hopefully she won't regret it. She is very excited to play baseball this year.
Wesley started Kindergarten this year and is really loving it. He keeps his teachers on their toes. Last week he was the "student of the week" and shared with his class that his dad has lots of rated R movies and lets him watch them. We were so proud.
We are so thankful for all the love and support we have had this last year. We are so blessed and thankful.
2010 Bring it on!
